St George Venetikos of the Augustinians

The Church of St George Venetikos (of the Venetians) of the Augustinians, near the Venetian harbour, is first mentioned in a notarial document of 1319. It later housed the confraternity of St George of the Venetians, founded in 1577. During the Ottoman period it was converted into a mosque, and in modern times it was acquired by a private individual and used as a warehouse.

It is a small, single-aisled church, originally covered by a saddleback roof. Today it survives roofless and in a ruinous condition, bearing numerous later alterations.
